Brief Answer:
Winter itch

Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are bothered by the winter dry skin problem. Most of us have this problem during the winter for various reasons. The most common reason is during the winter the ambient air is much dryer and the weather colder with wind.

My usual recipe for reducing the dry itchy skin is as follows
1. reduce the heat in the shower or bath. The higher temperatures remove more oils from our skin
2. use any soap but usually a moisturizing soap like dove may help improve the itch
3. Most important is to XXXXXXX dry with a towel don't rub. Rubbing removes more oils from the skin.
4. XXXXXXX dry to where there is still some moisture or water on your skin then use baby oil. Apply a thin layer of baby oil on your skin traps the water that is in your pores and allows oils and water to be absorbed. If you don't want to use baby oil then use the moisturex instead. What ever you use apply it while your skin is still slightly moist.

Try this and see if that helps. Most of my patient have found success with following this regimen after bathing
