Suggest Treatment For Itchy Pimples On Face
Question: I have a small light colored bump on my face which itches, very near where a patch of actinic keratosis was removed a couple years ago. It is not a pimple or related to any allergic reaction. It has been there for months without change. I have a similar almost invisible spot under my collar bone- I only remember it's there because of the persistent itchiness. I have an appointment with my dermatologist but she is booked into January. Does this sound like something that could be cancerous, which I should try to seek care for more quickly? I'm a fair skinned 46 year old female, and spend lots of time outdoors.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
It might be a spot of lichen planus.
If it has not changed size there is nothing to worry.
If possible upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis and better way of management.
Waiting for your response.
Thank you.

I'm not sure if this picture is adequate- it is the little bump on the cheekbone, not the more acne-like area below. My skin is very uneven, but only this small spot is itchy. The small light area just above it is from prior freezing procedure (rough itchy skin patch diagnosed as actinic keratosis)
Brief Answer:
Photodermatitis

Hello
Thanks for the follow up and photograph.
It's looking like photodermatitis.
Just relax this small patch is not dangerous.
Apply a mild steroid cream like cortisone daily in night for a week.
Apply a sunscreen with spf 50 daily in morning.
This will help you.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
