Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Spots In Groin Area
Question: Hello, I am keep on getting this flat red itchy spots on the pubic area.. They resemble the ones I get after shaving.. However, I am getting them regardless if I am shaving or not. I don't have any discharge and do not have any pain near the vagina. Also, I am itchy around the labia, but there isn't rash there at all.. I went to my doctor and she thought I have yeast infection and gave me cream to treat it.. It doesn't really help much and I am not sure how the yeast infection explains the red spots on the pubic area.. The only thing that helps with the itchy and getting these red spots is if I wash gently with hydrogen peroxide and tea tree oil mix.. It's works great, but all reappears when I stop doing that... Can you help me please?

Hello
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read your query and reviewed the picture you uploaded.
These red itchy spots/rashes are likely to be having acute urticaria (urticarial rashes) or hives from the picture but the picture quality is not so good or it looks to be blur.
So,kindly send me some good quality pictures of these red spots.
I will give my opinion after going through those images.
Awaiting your response.

Hello, thank you.
I uploaded new photos. Since I have made my morning hydrogen peroxide and tea tree oil shower I only see few spots.. If I don't do the peroxide solution shower there are many of them all over the pubic area.
Another thing is the itch feeling on labia and near the clitoris although there is no rash or any visible irritation there ...

Hello
Thanks for sharing more information with photos.
I have again read your query and reviewed both the new pictures you uploaded.
These red spots are likely to be having acute urticaria or urticarial rashes which I would put as my first possibility in your case.
It is usually an allergic reaction but there is nothing serious here since it can be fixed with oral and topical anti-allergic medications (antihistamines).
Itching is subjective in individuals which could be mild to severe.
Urticarial rashes or allergic hives can occur due to various causes like,
1) Infections (bacterial, viral, fungal)
2) Certain drugs(Pain killers/ antibiotics etc)
3) Certain foods and food additives/preservatives
Or It might be physical urticaria occurred as a result of physical touch, pressure, heat, cold, anxiety, exertion etc.
In a few cases, no underlying cause is found and are known as idiopathic urticaria.
You should take oral antihistamine like benadryl or tablet levocetrizine 10 mg twice daily for 2 to 3 days which are available over the counter.
A topical soothing lotion like calamine would also be helpful symptomatically and continue to use hydrogen peroxide and tea tree oil shower.
I would expect that you will start improving in 3 or 5 days or in case if not, then it would be advisable to see some nearby doctor who may order routine blood counts with ESR after careful inspection those rashes and can prescribe you appropriate treatment according to the underlying cause.
But no need to worry as it generally disappears in a few days with just symptomatic treatment.
Hope this will help you.
