Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Spots On The Feet
Information
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Without being able to see what your feet look like, I can only really suggest the most common possibilities.
Since this came on fairly abruptly, and the rash is more in the exposed parts of your feet (rather than between your toes - which would be more likely to be a fungal infection "athlete's foot"), it is most likely to be an allergic reaction. This can be a skin reaction to detergents, soaps, laundry dryer sheets/softeners, socks, or lotions. It can also be from something you ate.
Benadryl (oral) is a good choice.
Athlete's foot is another possibility but usually doesn't come on so abruptly in both feet. And it usually doesn't cause swelling like you described.
These are the most common causes of itchy red feet.
If it continues and is not controlled by taking Benadryl 50 mg every 6 hours, then I recommend that you go in to see your doctor or an urgent care clinic. If you go in to urgent care, request to see a real doctor rather than an NP or PA, as I believe most rashes requires someone with adequate medical training.
I hope this information helps.
