Suggest Treatment For Jaundice, Choking And Wheezing Sounds From Throat

Background: My daughter is 1 month old. She seems overall quite healthy. She had jaundice for the 1st 2 weeks, which got better without requiring the light treatment. She has been a light sleeper during the night and better sleeper during the day. Last few nights the sleep is getting better at night, but not fully settled yet. However she has been making these strange throat clearing sounds, chocking and wheezing sounds regularly for the last few weeks, almost as if she is struggling to breath. The sounds are almost like an old granny throat clearing-like sounds. Do we need to worry about this? Why does she make these sounds and seem uncomfortable?
Feeding: She is exclusively breast-fed at the moment, feeds regularly and seems to drink very fast, almost as if she is in a hurry. She is quite uncomfortable after the feeds and makes the same noise as mentioned above and we normally put her over our shoulder and try burp her.
Crying: She rarely cries except for these noises. Even when she is hungry, she makes these noises, but rarely cries out loud. Once in a while she might cry normally.
Tamiflu medication: When she was 1 week old, my son got diagnosed with Swine Flu and our pediatrician gave her a small dose of Tamiflu as preventative care which we administered for 1 week.
Birth weight: 2.7kgs
Eyelids: Sometimes in the mornings, here eyelids are stuck together with mucus like material.
We have a audio file with the sounds she makes if there is a way to attach it. Your help appreciated.
Suggestions on issues raised
Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I have discussed the issues which you have raised....
1. Sounds in throat - this seems like a laryngomalacia or congenital airway anomaly in a young infant which is quite common. In some young infants the airways will be soft and collapsible. So they make those hacking noises. There's nothing to worry about it. It will get better as the age progresses - about 1.5 to 2 years.
2. While crying and feeding these noises increase. This is quite natural. Don't worry about it.
3. Tamiflu was advised rightly by your pediatrician.
4. Sticky eyes are due to mild viral illness. Keep washing the eyes frequently with clean cold water. No need for antibiotic eye drops.
