Suggest Treatment For Joints Pain And Swelling
Question: Could this be psoriasis? it is still hanging around after using lotrimin. ive had joint pain and swelling for years with no explanation and since this one spot on the bottom of my foot keeps coming back up i was wondering and kind of hoping it was psoriasis because that would give a sensible reason for all my pain over the years.
Brief Answer:
Hello. This doesn't look like a typical psoriasis plaque
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX This looks more like an inflammatory eczema situation and lotrimin would not treat it as effectively as a cortisone cream.
In general, psoriasis plaques don't occur on the bottom of the foot--more often near joints like elbows and knees.
If, by chance you are having a problem with psoriatic arthritis, blood work including antinuclear antibody, rheumatoid factor, sed rate, and C reactive protein woud be a screen for that.
Please let me know if you need any more information.
