Frequent stone formers require evaluation. There can be many types of kidney stones. For example uric acid stones, caclium stone, oxalate stones, etc
Here is what he should do
1. Check serum uric acid levels, urine uric acid levels and calcium levels
2. The stone should be sent for evaluation for the type of stone
3. He should drink lots of water, about 2-3 litres per day
4. He should avoid getting dehydrated
5. Reduce raw vegetables, legumes, dal, red meat which contains high oxalate
