Brief Answer:
Klebsiella needs antibiotic treatment

Detailed Answer:
Good day! Thank you for being with healthcare magic.
Klebsiella is considered a uropathogen and warrants treatment. Based on the urine culture, the doctor should be able to tell you which antibiotic is needed. I would suggest that you go back to the urologist who did your TURP. How is your urination now? Are you able to void freely after the procedure? Urinary retention and urine stagnation are common risk factors of UTI

Thank you for your followup question.

Klebsiella sp. is found in the normal bacterial flora in the skin, oral cavity and other parts of the body. It is usually common to cause pneumonia by destruction of the lung tissue. In the urinary tract it is the second most common causative agent of UTI in the elderly population such as yourself. It also usually cause UTI in patients who had previous surgery and klebsiella is also becoming a significant cause of hospital acquired infection.

treatment would largely depend on the susceptibility strains that is diferrent from region to region.
