Suggest Treatment For Knee Pain Due To Arthritis

default
Posted on Fri, 16 May 2014
Question: My right knee has significant arthritis ( 6 months ago I had my left knee replaced). Today while simply walking in my house I heard a loud pop from my right knee and it buckled slightly. However I can put no weight on it nor walk. I can bend it fine and I'd rate the pain as a 1-2 and the pain is localized to the outer rear of my knee.

Brief Answer:
Get xray done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

You have given history of cortisone injection in right knee, this injection if given frequently causes thinning of the bones (osteoporosis), and a rare but serious type of damage to the bones of the large joints. So I advise you to get x-ray of both knees standing and send me the report.

Till then do not bend it, try to avoid squatting, upstairs as much as you can.

You should start doing quadriceps strengthening exercises as uploaded on youtube.

You can take 1 tab. aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside three times a day by prescription of doctor.

I hope it helps.
