Suggest Treatment For Left Sided Abdominal Pain Caused By Diverticulitis

Question: Hi
I currently have the classic left side pain for diverticulitis -
But...........
It started out 2 days ago like it was a bladder infection - but without the constant urination.
With the exception of the left side tenderness I feel fine and look fine -
No fever etc...
Normal stool - no blood
My question is this:
Why is it if I distend my abdomen - as If i were trying to make myself look pregnant -( I am a man) the pain goes away and it actually feels good.
???
Should I do a short course of Ciprofloxin?
Or should I wait this out and just eat soft foods?
I have had a MRI and CT scan with contrast.
They only show mild pockets of Diverticuli

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
My opinion is that you should start antibiotics (a short course of ciprofloxacin) together with dietary changes (liquid diet) in order to relieve your symptoms and to prevent future complications.
Hope this will be of help!
