Suggest Treatment For Leg Ache Caused By An Injury

Question: I fell and now my right leg aches a lot...pain just in the front part of my upper leg, above my knee in the middle of my leg...After I sit it seems okay...but it feels like I am pulling a muscle when I stand up and then hurts when I walk..XXXX

Brief Answer: Examination plus investigation Detailed Answer: Hi there, Thanks for writing to us, As your symptoms started after your fall,there are possible chances of trauma related injury mostly pertaining to bone with some extent to the muscle and menisci.(ligament supporting the of knee). So i advise you to take 1. X ray, any obvious fractures are detected. If nothing is detected MRI to rule out any minor ligament injury, more common with trauma. Follow up with the results. As with any trauma, rest, ice cold compression and mild analgesics like NSAIDS twice daily are advisable to avoid pain. If you have progressing symptoms,kindly visit an nearby orthopedician. Take care.
