needs serum electrolyte test
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.
I think I would be able to help you.
Cramps as you have correctly surmised are often due to electrolyte imbalance. However, that is not the sole cause of cramps.
I surmise from the query that he was unable to take his regular medications over the past few days. He had now started g he medications again. But we do not know the level to which the blood levels have fallen during this time.
I therefore recommend that you have tests done for serum electrolyte. If the levels were too long, it would take time to replace the levels and till then the symptoms will remain.
A faster option may be to admit him and get injective replacement.
Please let me know the reports.
I hope that the information helps you.
Feel free to contact me for further information.
Best of luck.
Dr Mittal.
