Brief Answer:
Pains can he due to fever or it not can be start of cellulitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!

Based on the history the pains can be due to fever as acute onset febrile illnesses present like such prodromal signs prior to full onset of symptoms. Fever with chills needs evaluation with complete blood count, blood cultures, urinalysis and malaria workup. Meanwhile using analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen will help with the symptoms. Decision of antibiotics or anti malarial should be based after labs.

Such symptoms doesn't conclude polio at this premature stage. Though rarely but if pain in legs gets severe or is accompanied with swelling get evaluated for cellulitis as history of high blood pressure alongwith high cholesterol and history of atherosclerosis as evident by previous stroke (ischemic if not hemorrhagic ). For that a detailed evaluation by a surgeon for arterial pulses and flow and doppler may be needed.

Hoping you a speedy recovery. If you dont have any more questions, please close the discussion. You can also reach me directly through my profile in future, in case of any more questions, Regards.
