Suggest Treatment For Leg Weakness And Foot Drop
Question: Good morning. I have dropped foot and leg weakness. This was NOT gradual which every neurologist has tried to tell me. It was sudden, IN AN INSTANT. Nov 22 at about 230 I was on my usual path to get my dogs and me going for a walk, jog sprint (FIT). I reached in for my keys after lifting my old 50 lb dog out of the car. All was well.
I picked up my keys and the weakness I felt in my legs as I stood up was profound. I shuffled to the steps to climb to the path. I had twenty pound potato sacks on my feet. This has not significantly changed in the year. ALS diagnosis from the neurologist who clearly thought I was in denial or was a liar or delusional. He kept insisting this problem was gradual. I gave up trying to convince him of the truth. Help.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Thanks for the query.
Foot drop can be treated by variety of methods but firstly some investigations need to be done like EMG, NCV, Muscle charting.
If your nerves or muscles are affected, the respective treatment will be chosen accordingly.
You need to understand that ALS is a progressive illness. The foot drop can be treated by surgery provided that the donor muscle and nerves are intact otherwise if there is widespread muscle and nerve involvement then there is no reason to attempt this surgery.
I hope I have answered your query.
