Brief Answer:
Regarding lichen planus
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Lichen planus is an immune mediated disease. The cause i.e antigen against which the immune cells act is not exactly known but it is characterized by perifollicular and follicular inflammation and subsequent destruction of hair follicles whuch is followed by fibrosis. This fibrosis is a permanent sequelae and there is no scope for hair regrowth even after the disease has stopped progressing.
