
Suggest Treatment For Lightheadedness And Loose Stool After Taking Eliquis

Question: my husband is 82 he is 6 ft wt. 187 he started taking eloquis about 6 weeks ago. he has some light headed XXXXXXX and at first loose stools. now constipation. He has never battled with constipation. we eat a paleo diet although he is not totally grain free.
do you think it is the eloquis? i read where you mentioned liquid paraffin. is that by mouth or suppository ?or should he go back to warfarin? he has AF and when they replaced his pacemaker defibrillator they changed him to eloquis

I would recommend continue taking eliquis, as it does not cause adverse gastro-intestinal effects.
For the constipation you should consult him with a gastro-enterologist. Lactulose can be helpful besides a diet full of fibers (cereals, olive oil, vegetables, etc. Besides, it does not interact with eliquis, so it is safe to take them concomitantly.
