Question: Hi I had a Neuroendrocrine tumor in May. I went for my six month check and everything was fine but I had linear ateclesis in my lungs. My surgeon said as long as it wasn't nodular ateclesis it was ok. Well I've developed a very tiny nodule on my right lung. I'm waiting for the dr to get back to me he wants to compare the CT scan from November with X ray that found the nodule what would most likely be the next step? Any chance they could tell from the x ray that its nothing to worry about nodule is 4 mm

Brief Answer:
I advice you to get done CT THORAX.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
I think its better to compare between two CT scans , not between chest x ray and CT scan.
As chest x ray gives only 2 dimensional view, while CT gives you complete 3 dimensional view. So ideally comparison should not be done between chest x ray and CT scan , as possibility of false interpretation is very high.
And 4mm nodule is too small to compare between chest x ray and CT scan.

In my opinion, you should get done fresh CT scan and compare it with previous scan. This would be logical as well as ideal.
And if size of nodule is same then possibility of benign nature of nodule is high.
So discuss all these with your doctor.

Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
