Brief Answer:
Following causes to black stool....
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
I feel sorry for the situation you are in.
Liver cirrhosis is often associated with bleeding. Black stool (melena) is a sign of bleeding in the upper gastro-intestinal tract. Further examinations are needed to determine if bleeding comes from the upper parts of your GI tract:
- upper endoscopy (to evaluate if you are having esophageal varices, stomach ulcer)
- colonoscopy
- complete blood count (to evaluate if you have anemia)
If you are taking iron supplements, that could be also another cause to black stool. Meanwhile, marijuana won't affect stool color.
Hope it helped! Let me know if you have further questions!
