- Are you known diabetic or newly detected? If known diabetic then any medicines are you taking?
- Family history of diabetes or obesity.
- Your height, weight, BMI.

In such a case I may suggest following investigations-
- HbA1c
- Lipid Profile.
- Liver Function Test.
- Urine examination.

Hepatomegaly with fatty infiltration is due to many causes.
But considering history mentioned in your question (though limited) possibility of XXXXXXX (Non Alcoholic Steato-Hepatitis) is most likely.

Diagnosis is based on detailed history taking, physical examination correlation with Liver enzymes (part of Liver Function Test), Lipid Profile, blood sugar levels.

Considering XXXXXXX following things are important
- Blood sugar control.
- Lipid control.
- Use of anti-oxidants like vitamin E.

In diet restriction of fat & calories (carbohydrates) is important.
