Suggest Treatment For Loose Motion, Vomiting And Mild Fever In A Child
My 5.5 year old son is suffering from loose motions (green, flowy & quite frequent - once an hour), vomit - once in 2-3 hours and mild fever (upto 100 / 101). This is happening since yesterday night and have been giving him the following meds -
1. Nutrolin B (every 6 hours)
2. Ondem (SOS)
3. Cyclopam
Above is based on a phone reco from a local doc. But haven't seen any improvement since morning. Please advise, appreciate your revert.
Thanks

Start Racecadotril granules
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. It seems that your child is suffering from an episode of gastroenteritis most likely due to viral infection. Viral infections tae a few days to recover.
I see such cases routinely in my clinical practice and recommend to start Racecadotril granules (1 XXXXXXX of 30 mg thrice daily). It helps to relieve the frequency of stools.Treatment should be continued until 2 normal stools are recorded and should not exceed 7 days.
I would also suggest you to take treatment for worm infestation as well such as albendazole (400 mg single dose).
Keep him well hydrated by regular feeds and oral rehydration therapy such as lemonade, soups, buttermilk or ORS.
Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care
