Suggest Treatment For Loose Stool And Dizzy Spells After Head Injury

Question: My husband is a paratrooper in the army and he did a parachute jump on Wednesday and he bumped his head a little, he didn't think it was anything. He had a headache that night but it went away when he took medication and he had been in the severe heat all day. Saturday he started having bathroom problems, loose stool every couple of hours. Sunday he woke up and he had tightness in his chest when he woke which went away but he felt cloudy and unfocused. Today he has had a hard time remembering things and has gotten dizzy spells. He has not had a normal bowel movement since Saturday and no matter how much he drinks water his pee is bright yellow. I don't know if him bumping his head is related to any of this or if he just severely dehydrated himself or it is a GI issue. Any insight would be helpful.
Brief Answer:
Sub dural hematoma
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
It looks like he is having a subdural hematoma from the bump to his head. The excess of urination is because of the brain acting on the kidneys to produce more urine.
I strongly recommend you to take him to the ER immediately to avoid permanent damanage to his brain. Hematoma might require draining surgically or intravenous medicines to reduce the pressure in the brain
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards

I begged him to let me take him to the hospital, but he had not eaten and drank all day, and is now saying he feels fine. He drank a lot of water, and ate some food and now says he feels 100%. He was a medic in the army and he is swearing he is fine. I am terrified and want him to go, but he says he promises he is fine.
And he was wearing a helmet for the jump by the way.

I understand how tensed you are. It is difficult to convince someone to go to a hospital.
If there is no headache or dizziness and he is feeling well then maybe you can give him the benefit of doubt however it does not explain why he was ill from wednesday. I would still get him evaluated even if he is feeling alright now.
I must add here that I have noticed that people in healthcare profession tend to ignore one's condition the most. It's the know it all attitude
