Brief Answer:
viral diarrhoea. give Ors and zinc

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually loose stools at this age if watery is viral infection.
It will settle down in a few days.
No antibiotics are required if there is no blood in stools.
I usually prescribe Ors ie oral rehydration solutions like electral to be given in sips every few minutes.
This will ensure that the child is hydrated.
Zinc at 20 mg per day as drops is usually given for 2 weeks to help in faster recovery.
Keep a watch on the urine output.
If your child passes urine atleast six times a day, no need to worry.
Wishing your child good health.
Regards
Dr Arun
