Brief Answer:
This sounds like hypothyroidism!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and it is suggestive of a low functioning thyroid. Unless I see the laboratory reports, I will not be convinced that this is not hypothyroidism. If you have the report, please upload it to me for review.

At times, borderline normal values are misleading and clients believe they are having thyroid problems of which they do. If I were your physician, with a less than convincing report about hypothyroidism and not other explanation for these symptoms, I will go ahead and try you on thyroid hormone supplements for a short while. If it proves helpful, I will continue with and if not, then I will discontinue.

What are you taking wellbutrin for?

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you Dr, Ivo Ditah, I looked up hypothyroidism, I used to take lithium for many yes. I was miss diagnosed with bipolar as a child and just recently was told by two those Drs I am not bipolar. I read that lithium can be a set up for a hypothyroid condition . What tests do I ask for if my dr says my thyroid is normal? I take Wellbutrin for anxiety. You see I was abandoned by my abusive adored parents when I was young and developed much anxiety. My mother was diagnosed with being narcissistic borderline , she was extremely abusive to her adopted children and had munchenhausen by proxy, she used gas lighting, mentally and physically abused me and my adopted brother most my life. I am trying to overcome the anxiety and depression.

Brief Answer:
Lithium can cause hypothroidism

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Lithium can cause hypothyroidism. I will suggest that you ask your doctor to investigate you for low thyroid. The best test to start with is TSH. This gives a good idea of how well the thyroid gland is functioning.

I am so sorry to hear about the childhood abuse that you suffered. This are some of the things that we could not have prevented all by ourselves. However, try to walk pass the painful past and low forward into the future with great optimism.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
