Suggest Treatment For Low Breast Milk Supply
Question: My wife is having low breast milk supply. Dr who is a gynecoogist in your panel of doctors had suggested to have satavari granules. She used to get 10 ml before and now after having the granules it has decreased to 3 ml per day. Why has it happened?

Hi,
If mother's milk is not available, then cow's milk can be started. It is the next best natural milk available. Only problem is low iron content in cow milk. We can give some iron supplement externally. Babies grow up just fine on cow's milk also. Anyways cerelac will start by 4-6 months whenever the baby is ready.
To increase mother's milk, medicines available are metoclopramide and domepridone. Domperidone can be tried as its a medicine for vomiting but may increase breast milk as a side effect.
