Suggest Treatment For Low Cholesterol Levels

Question: My son was told he has low cholesterol and low in vitamin d. What can he do for the low cholesterol. I know he can take vitamins for vitamin D. Are there any health threats with either of these.
Brief Answer:
Nothing special
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Cholesterol is required by body for making body tissues & other things.
Low cholesterol generally does not cause any problem to the patients as there are mechanism in body to convert carbohydrates into fat to form the required body tissues & other structures.
So don't worry & take just the normal amount of fat in diet.
Vitamin D supplement should be taken as Vitamin D3 XXXXXXX 60k units per week as Vitamin D is required for absorption of Calcium & its deficiency hampers calcium absorption.
Thanks & take care
