Brief Answer:
Please do NOT wait 2 dys, go in to urgent care clinic NOW.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

I recommend NOT waiting 2 days for the doctor's appt. Given that you have had a fever and severely inflamed throat (I am assessing this based on that you can't swallow), you may have strep throat infection. While a virus will go away in time and does not respond to antibiotics, strep throat can cause significant complications if not treated. Complications such as rheumatic heart disease.

So please don't wait any further. Go NOW to an urgent care clinic and make sure they do a throat swab. They can swab your throat for both strep and influenza, although strep is the most important thing to check right now.

The blood can be from a severely inflamed throat. If you spit up from your stomach (as in vomiting) that needs to be looked into.

So please go now, don't wait, get a throat swab, and you will need an antibiotic if it is strep.

If you don't have an urgent care clinic where you live, then ask if you can just come in to your doctor's office to have a throat swab done. This can often be done without an appt.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know how you are doing after you go in.
