Question: After having an chest X-ray and chest ct scan, I was told I have low grade viral pneumonia......no mass, tutors
or bronchitis. No Rx prescribed, but was told it is contagious and I should avoid people and outdoors for 2 weeks, after which another chest X-ray will be done. Is this the norm or what?

Brief Answer:
Norms and clinical decision

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day,

Dear Ms,

Pneumonia which is not clinically severe may be managed alone by symptomatice care. If there is clinical improvement in symptoms, absence of fever and respiratory complaints , no further investigation are required.
Repeat X Ray is only indicated for
1. No improvement in clinical symptoms
2. Development of new symptoms

In my routine clinical practise , I don't repeat X Ray if the patient is clinically improving. Norms and clinical decision vary from physician to physician.

Take Care
