Suggest Treatment For Low Lying Placenta During 16th Week Of Pregnancy

Question: I had a prenatal ultrasound today at 16 weeks 4 days and the tech mentioned that I had a low lying placenta. I asked her if that was a problem and she said not at all. I'm already having a csection and chances are it will move up. I left the appt not concerned at all and a while later my obgyn's medical assistant called to ask if I knew the results I told her what the tech stated and she said no. She said I not to have intercouse or exercise for the next 4 weeks until my next ultrasound. What is your opinion.
Brief Answer:
Do avoid exercise and intercourse.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A low lying placenta during early pregnancy usually moves up in 8-10 weeks. In case of a low lying placenta the chances of having a bleeding are more with exercise and intercourse. Avoiding these activities will decrease the chances of having a bleeding. It is best to go with your gynecologist's advice till the placenta moves up for sure.
