Suggest Treatment For Low Production Of Breast Milk

Question: My daughter is having milk production in one breast only. She had a baby 7 months ago, did not breast feed and had minimal leakage at the time. Never took anything to dry the milk up . Never had a problem. 2 days ago one breast started leaking a steady stream of what looks like milk. Its been 7 months should this be happening?

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
Congratulations on the baby.
Though not common, it is not abnormal to see this type of inconsistency with milk production. This is not a medical problem and should not be cause for concern for any of you.
She should continue hydrating appropriately and maintaining her health ton the best of her ability. If nursing is something she is committed to, she should definitely continue as best as she is able.

She never breastfeed would her milk not have completely dried up? Just out of the blue one breast starts leaking
Brief Answer:
Follow up.
Detailed Answer:
I understand.
Yes, this is very unusual. It would be a good idea for her to discuss this with her OB. I would feel more comfortable if any hormonal problems were ruled out. Once that was done, we could say that this is very unusual but still normal.
