I am asking about the hypothalmus hormone THR. Is there any treatments for that other than replacement with Synthroid?
Brief Answer:
Not used for hypothyroidism
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) not only stimulates release of Tsh but also stimulates prolactin and other hormone releases. Hence, it is not used in treating thyroid conditions.
Trh is used in diagnostic tests for pituitary anomalies. Also, used in treatment of spinocerebellar degeneration and disturbance of consciousness in humans.
Synthroid is the only specific treatment available for the hypothyroid conditions now.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
