Suggest Treatment For Lower Right Back Pain

default
Posted on Wed, 3 May 2017
Question: It's about two months and half that I'm having pain at (I think) right ureter nearest the bladder;pain isn't continue but sometimes lasts 15-20 minutes or more, but ends by antispasmodic medicine.During the last 20-30 days I feel pain also sitting into car etc. but also standing that abates when I seat on chair.
I've had emission of stone about 15-20 years ago spontaneously:it was mainly oxalate.
I feel well, apart the above symptoms.About five years it has been found iperuricemia which I tried and try to cure only by diet.Surprisingly I haven't made neither laboratory nor radiologic or other controls.I think that a "great" stone(8,10 or more mm.) is at ureteral vescical junction,in this case I'd have consulted an urologist, that now I can't consult for a lot of reasons(until it will be possible!)
The question is: can I continue by water, antispasmodics and antinflammatory medicine(not cortisone and other)For expulsive therapy I don't want to use neither tamsulosin etc nor nifedipine etc).I'm also using citrate to try to solubilize the aforementioned stone( is it of only uric acid?)
I apologize for the long question.
Thank you very much. XXXX

Brief Answer:
Yes you can continue the same therapy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
As per your query yes you can continue taking almost 3 to 4 litres of water daily along with anti inflammatory and smooth muscle relaxants.
However an ultra sound KUB should be done to rule out the exact location of renal stone as sometimes stones get impacted and may cause hydronephrosis.
However if you don't want to go for invasive therapy you are following the right treatment but if things din't settles down in a week go for ultrasound abdomen.
Thanks!
