Suggest Treatment For Lump On Left Knee After Injury
Question: I fell down a curb 6 days ago. My right foot ended up twisted underneath me and I fell very hard on my left knee, I almost passed out with the pain. Since then I've noticed a small lump on my knee which I can move around a little from side to side. It's numb on top, but when I press it hurts and tingles a couple of centimetres to the left of the lump. My whole knee is sore but I can walk on it.
Brief Answer:
Knee x-ray has to be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Even if you can walk on your leg, as the injury was pretty strong, fractures should be ruled out. No doubt in that. Please note that some fractures can give no symptoms, some can give just a minor pain. It all depends of the fracture location.
The lump you are able to palpate can be a piece of patella.
It is also possible that the lump you have is a hematoma.
I suggest you to consult orthopedist. Knee x-ray should be done. In case of doubts, also knee ultrasound is a good idea.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
