Suggest Treatment For Lump On Left Testicle

Question: hi there, about 6 weeks ago i found what seemed to be a small bump/lump on my left testicle near the spermatic chord area. I was a little concered and got it checked out. i went to the doctor he examined it and said it was due to infection.. i then went for an ultra sound and it came back that everything was normal. he gave me antibiotics and me being me didn't finish the prescription. my problem is that the lump is still there, it hasn't gotten bigger or small. is this normal? does it take some time to go down? thanks

Hi,

As per your description, it looks like an Epididymal cyst.

Epididymis is a structure located just above the testis. In case of infection, it becomes enlarged and reduces in size after using Antibiotic and anti inflammatory tablets.

As the swelling is not decreasing, it looks like a Epididymal cyst. It is a fluid filled swelling. It doesn't respond to medicines. It has to be removed by surgery only. But, the exact diagnosis has to be confirmed by Ultrasound of the scrotum done by a XXXXXXX Radiologist.

Please consult your Urologist and get examined clinically.

Thanks very much for you reply.

I have had a ultrasound about 6 weeks ago and he said everything was normal, I.e on the infection. I then went to see an urologist he took a ultrasound of my kidney area an abdomen. So I've had the ultrasound. What you suggest to do next.? Thanks

You wait for 2 weeks and repeat the Ultrasound scrotum.
Please ask the Radiologist to see Epididymis.
I prescribe Antibiotic like Levofloxacin and anti inflammatory tablets to my patients with similar complaints. If it is due to infection, it has to come down.
