Posted on Thu, 20 Aug 2015
Question: Hi, I noticed a very small lump on my lower bikini line about a week ago. You can only feel it if you press down on it and putting a hot towel on it makes it go down. Should I go to a doctor about this?

Brief Answer:
possible lymph node or subcutaneous lipoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It sounds to me like enlarged lymph node, lipoma or fibroma. These are benign lesions of subcutaneous tissue. If there is no redness or pain then this is not emergency and you can wait and see if this will grow. In case of growing, you should do ultrasound and if some of these 3 lesions are confirmed then it can be removed under local anesthesia. If there is no pain redness or grow then there is no need for surgical therapy. Wish you good health. Regards
