Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Labia Minora
Question: Found a strange spot on labia minora. I'm terrified that it is herpes. It doesn't hurt or itch. But my labia in general has been itchy as of late at random. I have been diagnosed with vulvar vestibulitis and my obgyn has attributed some of my symptoms to that.
Brief Answer:
Not herpes
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I have seen the attached pictures and glad to tell you that it is not herpes.
This is not the clinical appearance to begin with and herpes is excruciatingly painful and usually not associated with swelling of nearby areas.
This is vestibulitis only which is now in healing phase most likely so when the swelling subsides there starts itching.
This spot is just a coincidental pimple kind of thing and will subside by itself in a couple of days.
Can you please tell me the medicines you have been on so that I can advise you better.
Waiting for your response.
Regards
Dr Manisha

My obgyn has perscribed me hurricane numbing gel for the pain and itchyness. I was just so alarmed because this circular indentation randomly showed up and I didn't notice it before. The vestibulitis she found was inside near the opening of my vagina. However, the outer labia minora has been itching and irritated as of late and she has no clue why. Then this spot showed up and worried me.
Brief Answer:
Precautions advised
Detailed Answer:
I know the anxiety involved.
It is most probably due to yeast infection and not herpes, take a note of the following -
- wear a cotton based underwear and change it daily
- wash perineal region with vWash liquid after bath
- use condom while having sex
- apply hurricane as advised for 7 days more or till itching persists.
- get your blood sugar levels checked
In case itching and swelling persists or worsens then visit your gynecologist for examination.
All the best.
