Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Left Shoulder Blades
Sonogram revealed normal tissue but you could see the muscle being a bit wavy. Report states normal muscle tissue. This area is about the size of a slightly stretched nickel, is soft and movable (but have stopped the pole fitness and its way softer than it was but still there). It's been about 2 years since I had the sono. I get regular massages and the massage tech said it feels like normal muscle tissue to him.
Will this ever go away? Would a sonogram (And she was thorough) miss something sinister? It is not a lipoma or (and I saw the sonogram when she was doing it and the tissue all looked the same). Thank you for your time.
Normal muscle tissue bulging from torn fascia.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling that you have on the back of the shoulder is likely to be a muscle mass. It happens due to minor rupture of the covering fascia due to stress and the muscle tissue bulges out.
Now that you have stopped doing pole fitness exercises, the hardness of muscle has reduced. It is not likely to go away on its own. The fascia needs a repair to make the muscle tissue get inside. It is not something sinister and is a harmless finding. It is not a mass but is a normal muscle tissue.
I hope this answers your query.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Even if you do nothing there is no harm in it remaining as it is. You can resume doing the exercises and in case it increases in size or starts paining then a surgical repair is needed.
Hope my answer is helpful.
