Suggest Treatment For Lumps Like Cluster On Wound
Question: I had a shave biopsy on an unidentified lesion. I can see white lumps/plugs in a cluster and I dont know what they are? Are they indicative of what caused the lesion? an infection perhaps?
Brief Answer:
Wound infection; Oral and topical antibacterials
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have taken note of your query and I have also reviewed the Image.
I can see an a wound.
Floor of the wound is covered with yellowish discharge which suggests bacterial infection.
The area is raw and is therefore prone to infection
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest an Oral antibiotic e.g either flucloxacillin Or cephalexin for a week.
Topically you may use an OTC antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin cream, twice daily.
Regards
