Suggest Treatment For Lumps On The Knee And Buttocks
Question: I have several large lumps under my skin with puss, that seems too hard to remove by squeezing. The lumps are hard to the touch. There are random in location, outside of right knee, outside of left knee, and the largest one on my left side buttock. I have been to the dermatologist on Monday and he biopsied the smallest, which has not increased in size. About 30 days ago I had three "bites" on the back of my right leg. they were lineal, one above the knee bend, one right in the knee bend, and one below on the calf. The dermatologist administered antibiotic shot, oral antibiotics and an ointment. Those have cleared but bruising remains.

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
You have furunculosis (boils due to caused by the the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus infection). Some of the boils are organized producing hard lumps but with pus.Diabetics are usually prone to it.Get your blood sugar fasting and postprandial checked,if not already done.The lesions which have been cleared with antibiotics but bruising remained ,will clear up with local applications of antibiotic ointment preferably betadine or Mupirocin topical anti-infective.
You need to take warm water bath with antiseptic soap twice a day;pair your nails regularly.
Risk factors for furunculosis include bacterial carriage in the nostrils, diabetes melitus, obesity, lymphoproliferative neoplasms, malnutrition, and use of immunosuppressive drugs.
Hopefully you have none of these risk factors.
