Suggest Treatment For Lymph Node Enlargement In The Groin Region

I am writing to get a second opinion and just your thoughts on a condition that I have been dealing with for almost a year now and is of yet undiagnosed. FYI I am Caucasian male, 36, 5'-8", 184 pounds, with no history of serious illness or surgery. Early in 2014 I began to notice several instances of drenching night sweats, maybe 2 per month up until around July. At that time I also noticed several swollen lymph nodes in my right groin, one of which had some redness and tenderness to the touch. I also was experiencing some pain in my right testicle, lower right abdomen, right groin, and right thigh. I was also very gassy and noticed that my bowel movements were becoming more frequent. Two or three per day, where normally I only used to have one per day. With the combination of these symptoms I visited my doctor who is familiar with me as he has been my physician for about 10 years. He physically examined my groin area, prescribed antibiotics, ordered a full STD panel, blood work, and ordered a scrotal ultrasound. All tests came back negative which I anticipated because I had no fears of STDs and felt no lumps on my testicles. They did say they saw some enlargement of lymph nodes, but nothing pathological. At a three week follow up, I had not experienced anymore night sweats, however pain somewhat persisted so he ordered an addominal MRI (with injection) and also referred me to a urologist and to a stomach specialist. The MRI did no show any abnormalities, although I don't know specifically what they were tasked to look for. The urologist only examined my prostrate and asked a few questions regarding urination and sexual function and he did not see anything he could help me with. The Stomach doctor was not much help either, although I explained that my bowel movements had become more frequent as well as urgent, he said that my description was normal but he suggested I up my fiber intake. Skip ahead to present day. The pain has come and gone several times since last September, but during all that time I remained more gassy than normal, with a constant bloated feeling. I met with my doctor last week and informed him the pain was coming back, but due to the fact that all the previous test came back normal, he did not seem very concerned and told me maybe it is simply a muscular issue or stress related. I have taken it upon myself to start taking fiber supplements and a daily probiotic pill, as I feel it may be some type of gastric issue. I am going to make another appointment with my doctor for next week to let him know the pain is beginning to increase again and is now present even up to my lower ribcage, and I have also had I few cases of night sweats in the past week. My body is telling me something is wrong, and I need to find out what it is. What are your thoughts, and what further diagnostic test if any do you believe could help locate the problem?

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
It looks like your symptoms are gastrointestinal in nature. I wouldn't pay much importance to the lymph node enlargement in the groin region as many individuals have enlarged nodes especially if they stand and walk a lot.
Here is how you should go about it
1. Your symptoms are suggestive of either irritable bowel disease or inflammatory bowel disease
2. I recommend you to approach a gastroenterologist, he is the ideal doctor for you
3. you will have to undergo a colonoscopy and a biopsy of the colon as soon as possible
4. Continue lifestyle modification. Follow a low fat and high fiber diet
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Hello
Thanks for getting back. I am happy you are getting investigated in the right direction now. I am sure you will find answers soon. If the groin pain is really annoying you then I suggest you get a Doppler ultrasound of the groin region after the colonoscopy
