Suggest Treatment For Memory Issues In A 67 Year Old
Question: An unknown aneurysm on my left temporal area caused emergency surgery 15 years ago. I miraculously survived. TBI resulted in intense emotions. I did not have memory problems then, but now I am 67 years old and I've started having trouble with word-finding. Could this be a longterm result of the surgery? Or is this the typical symptoms of aging?

Brief Answer:
Very unlikely to be related to surgery.

Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
In my opinion, word-finding problems are not related to 15 years ago surgery, it could be a feature of aging, but also may herald mild cognitive impairment and/or dementia.
Het evaluated by a Neurologist and by neuropsychological tests about it.
