Suggest Treatment For Menstrual Irregularities While Having PCOS

Question: Hi I was diagnosed with pcos in Feb after having a transvaginal ultrasound because of irregular periods. I didn't start metformin until a month ago. The last 2 periods I have had have been lighter but present in a stop start manner and seem like they will never end. Is this irregularity because of pcos or something more sinister. I am 30
Brief Answer:
Endometrial changes can be present
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Menstrual irregularities in PCOS are due to irregular ovulation as well as can be due to changes in the uterine lining called endometrial hyperplasia due to the hormonal disturbances in this syndrome.
I will suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist and get a endometrial biopsy to confirm the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
