Suggest Treatment For Milk Protein Allergy In Infant

I would like to give protein hydrolysate formula
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
I have gone through the details and to me it appears to be milk protein allergy/soya allergy.
Most common cause of stool mixed with blood in early infancy is milk protein allergy or soya allergy.
Other common cause is vitamin K defeciency.
Isomil and zerolac both are lactose free soya based formula and is advised in milk protein allergy.
If there is milk protein allergy,it has been seen 40% of them also can have soya allergy.
I would like to give hydrolysate formula like infamil,as it can be given both in milk protein and soya allergy.
I would like to rule out vitamin K deficiency as it is next common cause of blood in stool.
Inj vitamin K should be given if vitamin K deficiency is suspected.
I would like to continue the present medication and suggest you to change to protein hydrolysate formula.
Discuss with your physician about the possibility of vitamin K deficiency and need of USG abdomen to rule out any surgical condition.
Please let me know if you have any more doubt.
Regards
