Brief Answer:
Good prognosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Your aunt is suffering from what is known as Minimal change nephrotic syndome. It has a very good prognosis and it most of the times responds to treatment.
They have put her on the right treatment, where she is receiving 60 mg of Omnacortil once a day. ( make sure that it is 1mg/kg)

Few other recommendations

1. Make sure she is avoiding red meat. Chicken or fish twice a week is fine
2. Until the edema ( swelling of the feet and face) comes down let her restrict fluid intake less than 1 litre per day
3. She has to take omnacortil daily, stopping the treatment or missing tablets might put her into relapse

There is no need to worry about this, most patients stop losing proteins by 12 weeks of treatment. Most important thing is compliance to treatment.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Brief Answer:
Second line of management

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

I am sorry for the shorty delay in my reply, there was a family emergency.

In case of steroid resistant protein leak from the urine I recommend that she is on second line of management. I usually put them of tab tacrolimus twice a day or tab mycophenolate mofetil. I get good response with tacrolimus. Please approach a nephrologist with my recommendation

I am once again sorry for the delay in my reply

Regards
