Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX.
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

First of all let me assure you that this problem is not definitely mood swing. Clinical mood swings are different from normal mood problems. And such normal mood problems cannot be termed mood swings.

Habits are those which we keep for so many years. New habits can be introduced and they usually get discontinued mainly because there is no room for them. There is nothing new in it.

1). We have so many habits which are with us from our child hood.
2). If you recall, there are so many other habits (good or bad) which you started and had to leave in between.

I can assure you that the second category is much more in numbers than the first category. You can count the numbers of those habits which you started and continued till now. Those you felt essential with your heart, other wise, without those habit, you cannot survive.

For any habit to be part of human life, there are two criteria, as I mentioned earlier. 1). You should feel that the new habit is essential with your heart or you sincerely want the new habit. And 2). Such a habit should be followed otherwise, you cannot survive. If you go back and recall, you will find these two categories as true in your case also.

All those Habits which you start with enthusiasm may not have enough backing from environment, behavioral aspect, attitude etc, may soon discontinued. That is quite natural. There is nothing to worry about. Instead you should make up your behavior so as to be suitable to the new habitual pattern you want to cultivate.

Our mind and body are always adventurous. They want to do new always. If you give them enough opportunities, they always experiment. But our perceptions and related attitude, give our mind little room for experiment. That holds true in the case of habit also.

Make sure you start a habit with a good environmental and attitudinal back up and I am sure that you shall succeed. Other wise the habit will be discontinued. There is nothing to worry about that. Old habits die hard and new one die easy.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Available to answer any amount of follow up queries in this matter.
