Suggest Treatment For Mouth Sores And Swollen Gums

Question: I have sores in my mouth, gums are swollen, sores on my tongue, sores on my lips. I have a fever and my lymph glands are swollen. I went to a doctor yesterday and he told me that I just have gingivitis but my whole mouth is sore and it all started 3 days ago no symptoms prior to that. My 11 year old is now complaining of sores on the roof of her mouth.

Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, you might be having streptococcal upper respiratory tract infection. If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed penicillin antibiotics like amoxicillin with clavulunic acid combination drugs twice daily for 5 days. + anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol 500 mg + diclofenac 50 mg combination drugs twice daily for 5 days. Multivitamin supplement with triamicilone oral ointment for local application for the sores. It will take about 7 days for symptoms to reduce. Adequate hydration is needed.
