Question: I drive a city bus for a living. Yesterday I needed to turn a corner however after being distracted by a passenger I continued to go straight and then realized the mistake I have made I then need to make a correction. Over the last summer a couple of other times similar type problems happened when needing to make turns I went straight. A lot of multi tasking needs to happen in my work and I really love the job. So I am wondering what may be causing this happening. I am 65 and really hope this does not affect my job for another couple of years.

Brief Answer:
Movement disorder or forgetfulness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

Inability to make a turn can be due to inability to change the direction (movement disorder) or due to forgetfulness.
You have to make an assessment whether the problem is due to inability of body to turn or you forgot that you had to turn.
These two are very different disorders and have all together different management.
I suggest you to consult a physician for clinical assessment.
In case there is movement disorder a couple of disorders have to be ruled out.
Parkinsonism is one such condition wherein the tone of muscles is increased making it difficult to increase or decrease the speed of gait and there is increased tone of the muscles.

Forgetfulness is another common problem in elderly.
It is due to age related degenerative changes.

Consult your physician for clinical assessment and thus further management.

Thanks and take care
