Brief Answer:
Intestinal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Mucous in stools always means infection of the gut. Bowel incontinence is frequently associated with gut infection. Since it has been there for 2 months and there is abdominal cramping I suspect small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.

Here is what you should do

1. You need to be on pro biotics like Tab VSL-3 once a day for a month
2. You will have to be treated with antibiotics for a prolonged period of time. I give antibiotics for 2 weeks, a combination antibiotics like ciplox with tinidazole is ideal.
3. Tab Hyoscine butylbromide is a good tablet for abdominal cramps.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me.
