Suggest Treatment For Multiple Benign Cholesterol Polyps Of The Gallbladder While On Udiliv
Worthwhile to consult a gastroenterologist....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It would have been better if you had specified how high SGPT/SGOT and GGT levels were. They are increased due to various causes including infection, alcohol, liver and bile duct inflammation. I presume one of these could have been the cause. Treatment is usually conservative with medications (Udiliv / liv50 tablets), dietary modifications and abstinence of alcohol.
As far as gall bladder polyps and periportal adenopathy is concerned, it needs to be observed / evaluated further. I will recommend you get a personalised evaluation done by a gastroenterologist. Treatment would more likely be just observation or surgical removal of gall bladder.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications

May or may not be related...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Apologize for the late reply. I was travelling during this weekend and was away from internet.
SGPT and SGOT values of 61 and 70 are not concerning. It needs further evaluation if it exceeds more than 100. GGT of 100 is usually associated with alcohol intake. Do you drink alcohol? If yes, GGT is most likely secondary to alcohol and not polyp.
Polyps in the gallbladder may or may not be related to elevated enzymes. What is your serum bilirubin values (direct and indirect)? If they are also elevated then the polyp is causing obstruction and elevated enzymes.
As far as MRI is concerned, there is elevated lymphnodes in the abdomen. To be specific, lymphnodes around the liver / bile ducts (periportal) are elevated. The elevation is most likely due to benign reasons - inflammation or infection.
You should discuss with your doctor / gastroenterologist for further evaluation and monitoring.
Hope this helps. Apologize once again for the late reply.

I am more worried about the lymphnodes as a friend of mine (who is a MBBS doctor) suggested I should meet an Oncologist.
Please advise.
More likely benign lymphnodes...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
MRI clearly states that elevated lymphnodes have clear margin. They are not clubbed into each other. Similarly there are not necrotic. These are features suggestive of benign nature and as stated from inflammation / infection. Definitely an oncologist will be able to throw more light into this matter. But I feel the condition will only need observation and not definitive intervention.
You can without significant fear take an opinion from an oncologist.
Hope I am clear. Let me know if you need clarifications.
