Suggest Treatment For Multiple Indentations In Thighs And Calf Muscle Area
What did your PCP said that you have?
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your history and concerns.
Noted that you have noticed multiple indentations at the thighs and the calves area, they are not painful, your PCP has recommended laser treatment.
I would like to know a few things for me to assist you more:
- Have you noticed this recently only or they were present since long?
- You said no pain, is there any pain on pressure (tenderness)
- What are the sizes?
- Are they freely XXXXXXX under the skin or attached to the skin?
- What was the opinion of your PCP, what diagnosis did he/she give?
Please post a photograph.
If these are freely XXXXXXX not tender and not attached to the skin, these are most likely lipoma. IF these are lipoma and small, no active treatment may be needed.
But if it is not sure on clinical grounds what they are, I would advise you to have a clinical evaluation, examination done preferably by a General Surgeon to get a confirmed diagnosis, and then only to plan a treatment.
Having proper diagnosis is the most important step.
I hope this answer helps you to have an early diagnosis and proper treatment.
Please give feedback.
There is no tenderness on any of the indentations.
On my thigh, about 8 inches, and on my calf about 5 inches long.
They do not move and feel like firm muscle under the skin.
She used a term I was not familiar with. Something about muscle bands.
May be diffuse lipomatosis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback and the clear pictures.
These appear to be diffuse lipomatosis, occurs usually in females patients.
High resolution Ultrasonography of the lumps and surrounding with FNAC can give you the diagnosis.
Idiopathic fat necrosis is another possible diagnosis.
Once the diagnosis is confirmed, then only the treatment can be thought about.
I hope this answer helps you.
