Suggest Treatment For Muscle Inflammation In Jaw And Head Pain After An Injury

If the pain has not shown any improvement then please consult doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. Sorry to hear about your fall which happened a week back and hope the pain is decreasing and you are feeling better than before. I guess you have used pain relief measures including medicines and ointments over the painful areas.
2. Usually a fall causes muscle spasm in the back which is responsible for the pain. The pain resolves in a week when the muscle inflammation decreases.
3. Some times a patient can have the pain for 15 days depending on the intensity of the fall and if there is slight bone injury. Even then the pain starts decreasing after a week.
4. It is never late to get yourself checked by the doctor. If there is significant pain in your back at the location of the fusion surgeries then you should get x ray done of the area in AP and lateral views. This will tell if the fusion area has got affected by the fall.
5. If jaw opening and closing is persistently painful without any improvement after your fall then this should raise the suspicion of a temporomandibular joint problem and should be investigated clinically.
Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
